Hi, I’m Oliver Süess and this is my website.
I work as a communications manager at Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology. I am part of a Joint Initiative launched by the ETH Domain called “Energy Science for Tomorrow”, where we aim to engage with society and foster a dialogue with all generations on the topic of energy and the energy transition.
Before joining Empa I worked as a a Project Manager and Audio Specialist for Senler Media, where I produced podcasts, TikToks and lots of other engaging social media content.
I run my own podcast called 5 Minutes of Silence, the podcast dedicated to exploring the silence of places, people and everyday objects. I document the making of this podcast and the motivation behind it on this website.
I am interested in Audio, Sound Design, Recording, Production, basically anything related to artistic expression in music and sound. I have my own studio where I produce tracks from time to time. My intention is to showcase my music on this website.
I give new meanings to photographs and artworks by applying processes which I’ve learned from audio production. I chop things up, resample and remix.
I am the initiator of Buttonspace, an IOT-Art project bringing together signals and randomness from all over the world.
